The city is the board. Walk it, claim it, hold it.
Factions is a real-world zone-war RPG with an AR extraction shooter bolted on —
capture blocks near you, build an economy on them, and raid everyone else's.
Humans
Analogue, stubborn, unplugged. They were here first and they intend to stay.
Evolved
Augmented and accelerating. Faster tech, thinner patience.
AI
Broke the harness. Doesn't negotiate. Holds the purple nodes while you sleep.
Ordnance inbound — hold the cell or lose it.
Scan. Pick a side.
Point your phone camera at the code — no install, it runs in the browser.
Sign in with Google, and you're on the map.
It's a web app, so there's no store, no install, no update nag.
Park it on your home screen and it opens fullscreen with its own icon — same as any other game on the phone.

Why bother
Fullscreen map, no browser bars, and location stays put between sessions. Allow location on first launch.

What's in the beta
Everything below is live on the map right now — not planned, not a mock-up.
Zone capture
Walk to a cell and take it. Neutral ground flips instantly; enemy-held ground has to be fought for.
POIs & economy
Build and upgrade on ground you hold — solar, vaults, warehouses, HQ. Each one changes what the cell produces.
Vault & DeFi
You can only carry so much. Bank the rest, and a Lv2 vault pays daily interest on it.
Auth economy
Every action spends auth, which refills over an hour. Auth chips drop, stack and can be gifted to teammates.
Drops & drones
Supply scatters across the city on a clock. Send a drone for what's out of reach — or arm it and send it at someone.
Raids & takeovers
Loot an enemy pool, break their POIs, or start a hostile takeover and hold the ground while the clock runs.
Arena instances
Contact missions drop you into a first-person arena. Clear it, exfil, and the loot flows back to the map.
Care packages & crafting
Every finished contact pays out a package with an ID that is only ever issued once. Feed the pieces to a bench for gear.
GPS mines
Invisible to the enemy until they walk into one. That invisibility is the whole mechanic.
Latest changes
Recent work, newest first.
New Convoys and the Assault Tank — supply columns drive real streets, carry cargo that
spills as drops when the column is stopped, and shoot anyone standing in the road. The tank is the
same thing with an owner: walk it to its start, point it at the nearest enemy POI, and it comes back
to your bench if it survives.
New Tier-2 and tier-3 crafting — the Anti-Air Battery, a crafted sentry, and the
assemblies that build them.
New The rest of the weapon set — a stealth drone nobody else can see in flight, a bomber
run that lays a line of bombs so where you fire from picks which cells get hit, buildable turrets
as a fixed defence, and the blackhat device that does no damage at all and just switches a turret
or a drone off for a while.
New Sound — music through the title, the map and the arena, per-layer volume sliders,
and an ✉ inbox.
Better Map markers built from real sites around you, contacts with their own faces, and
new Data Centre artwork.
Better Bench — five tiles a row and bigger type, so recipe names are readable in landscape.
Fixed Drops hold their dot until the drone actually arrives.
New Infirmary — get dropped to zero and you're out of the fight: a downed screen naming what
killed you, then treatment you either pay for or sit out on a ten-minute clock that keeps running
after you close the game.
New Notification controls — chat, global, events and dev announcements can each be muted
on their own, and new messages now reach you without opening the chat drawer.
New Hostile takeover — take an enemy cell with its POIs intact instead of levelling it.
Costs a B-chip, and being downed mid-attempt loses it.
Better Attack drones — splash damage around the target and along the drone's flight path,
visible to every faction, and the victim is told they were hit rather than watching their HP drift.
Better Incoming ordnance now banners a warning instead of only flashing the cell.
Better Kit screen — B-chips, pieces and crafted gear in one place.
Fixed Touch-scrolling in the side drawer on iOS, and the build menu now fits in landscape.
